Description

The Messerschmitt Bf-110 is a German twin-engine heavy metal fighter with a double tail. The engines used were Junkers Jumo 210Ga, Daimler-Benz DB 601B-1, Daimler-Benz DB 601F, Daimler-Benz DB 605B-1 engines with power from 700KM to 1475KM. The first prototype of the Bf-110 took off in May 1936. The first mass-produced version of the Bf-110 was the C version, with production commencing in 1939. The C version was regarded as a heavy fighter and performed on average in the September campaign, but much better in the French campaign. However, being too heavy and slow, the Bf-110 suffered considerable losses in the Battle of Britain, resulting in being transferred to the Reich Defence units as a night fighter, which eventually led to the creation of the G and H versions. They were used as night fighters and interceptors against allied bombing expeditions. In combination with the on-board radar (e.g. FuG 202 or FuG220), the Bf-110 became a formidable adversary for British bombers. Around 5,800 aircraft were manufactured.
