Description
The U-2S “Dragon Lady” Senior Span is a high-altitude, long-endurance reconnaissance aircraft used by the United States Air Force for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
Originally developed by Lockheed (under the famous Skunk Works division) during the Cold War in the 1950s, the U-2 has been continuously upgraded over the decades to remain a critical asset for the U.S. military and intelligence communities.
The “Senior Span” designation refers to a suite of advanced communication and data relay systems fitted to the U-2S variant, enhancing its ability to collect and transmit real-time intelligence.
