The first Range Rover was officially launched on June 17, 1970. It was produced from July 1970 to February 1996 and was continually refined. With its permanent all-wheel drive, coil spring suspension and 3.5-liter V8 engine, revolutionized the off-road vehicle market. Initially designed as a three-door vehicle, the Range Rover was already considered a model for a number of other luxury off-road vehicles in the 1970s.
