Description
The kit depicts HMS Repulse as she would have appeared off the east coast of Malaya on the 10th December 1941, when attacked by a significant force of Japanese bombers and torpedo armed aircraft. Sadly despite spectacular manoeuvres by Captain Tennant, the Repulse was lost, together with the battleship, HMS Prince of Wales. This one event, could be argued signalled the end of the era of the unescorted battleship, to be replaced by that of the aircraft carrier as the main weapon of naval warfare.
