Description
The Fairey Fulmar was a British carrier borne fighter that served with the Fleet Air Arm during WWII. A total of 6oo were built at Fairey Aviation’s Stockport plant between January 1940 and December 1942. The Fulmar’s design was based on that of the earlier Fairey P4/34 that was in turn developed in 1936 as a replacement of the Fairey Battle light bomber, which incidentally is due to be released by Trumpeter in 1/48 scale during 2025. Although its performance, as with the Battle was lacking, the Fulmar was a reliable, sturdy aircraft with a long range and an effective suite of 8 machine guns in the wings.
Four decal options are provided, in this highly detailed kit, which also offers a wing fold option.
A small photo etch fret is also supplied, which includes seat belts, plus a canopy mask.
