Description
A traditional trawler made by the Anciens Chantiers Dubigeon (ACD) in Nantes, the Volontaire (SM767) was launched in February 1950. It was operated by the Malo Trawler Association, and its home port was Saint-Malo in Brittany. Marie Jeanne was her sister ship whose home port was Concarneau. Very modern for their time, they were equipped with a 1100 horsepower BW (Burmeister and Wain) diesel engine. Originally designed to fish from both sides, they were later modified to remove the trawl gallows from port side. Decommissioned at the beginning of the 1970s, and scrapped in Bilbao in March 1973.
Glue, a brush and three pots of acrylic paint are included.
