This 1:600 scale model of HMS Ajax showcases the distinguished British light cruiser with 91 meticulously moulded plastic components. Tailored for intermediate hobbyists aged 8 and older, this Vintage Classics edition faithfully depicts the ship that spearheaded one of the pivotal naval battles at the onset of the Second World War. The mould dates back to 1965 , with the box art from the legendary Roy Cross from 1965.
The kit measures 281 mm in length, with a beam of 28 mm.
HMS Ajax was a British Leander-class light cruiser first launched in March 1934. Serving throughout WW2, perhaps her most famous action came at the beginning of the Second World War when she led an engagement against the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee in the South Atlantic, which led to the scuttling of the mighty Kriegsmarine surface raider.
