Description
The F-104S is the version operated by the Italian Air Force, powered by the larger J79-GE19 engine, producing nearly 17,900 lbs of thrust with afterburner, with could achieve a maximum speed of Mach 2.2. This version also has a nine hard points stationed on its wings and fuselage, thus providing a greater weapon carrying capability, even allowing limited air to ground support.
